Hello sweet friend,
This morning I’m sharing a decidedly imperfect and very rambly note from me to you.
A book I’ve been reading called The Creative Act along with my dear friend Dina’s latest newsletter has me thinking about perfection and what a strong hold it can have on me/us, especially when our creativity is in any way tied to our job/income/survival.
I offer mostly reflections/questions and very few conclusions, as per usual :)
May we seek solace in the act of approaching perfectionism with more curiosity and less judgment.
In addition to my ramble, below are a few moments from the last week captured in photos and held close to my heart.
A very short and sweet weekend visit to see my brother and another dear friend in California.
Always grateful for the kind of shift in perspective that comes from a change in scenery. The light and colors and lushness of California and how it just hits different.
An always helpful reminder to “look up”:
And the gift of a stunning view upon obliging:
Rainbow spotting with Omi and watching the raindrops shimmer like sparks in the sunlight as they hit the surface of the river. Grateful to reconnect with this kind of magic through the eyes of my children, a cliche for a reason, and one I’m happy to report rings true.
With love and gratitude,
Raina
